History of Tregaarden's Christmas house
Imagine more than hundred years back in time, to the age of the sailships and horse equipages. Drøbak was at this time a busy port with constant arrivals of ships from all over the world.
At this time the Drøbak house of prayer was buildt, the house wich have ment so much for generations of people in Drøbak.
Sunday the 19th of August 1877 the praying house was opened with grand celebration. The total building cost was with inventory was inclusive was aformidable Nok 4.500,-
The praying house was frequently used until the second world war, but after that it was empty for almost 40 years.
In 1986 the praying house was sold to Eva and Willy Johansen.
And after two years of restoring work the doors reopened at 27th of August 1988 with the new name of: ”Tregaardens Julehus”.
